Focusing on Yuexiu District’s “Xihu Spring Festival Flower Fair,” the film adopts a multi-site ethnographic approach and participatory observation to document the 2024 flower fair and its vibrant journey through the city.

Through the flower fair, the film offers an in-depth portrayal of the traditional customs of the people of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, deeply rooted in Lingnan and Cantonese culture—where flowers are cherished as a way of life, appreciated as a social tradition, incorporated into festive customs, and cultivated as a livelihood. These traditions find their fullest expression during the Chinese New Year through the time-honored practice of “Walking the Flower Street.”

The film also explores a unique form of intangible cultural heritage embodied in the idea that “everyone is a bearer of tradition.” This living tradition represents a powerful cultural foundation and a call to the times, contributing to the integrated development of the Greater Bay Area and strengthening a shared sense of community among the Chinese nation.
