This is a documentary film centered on China’s intangible cultural heritage. It follows a young man (Chen Feiyu) who grew up in Beijing and travels to Suzhou out of curiosity for traditional culture, embarking on a journey of exploration and learning.
Through close interactions with master artisans and inheritors of Kunqu Opera, Pingtan storytelling, Su embroidery, Biluochun tea-making, and the crafting of imperial kiln golden bricks, he not only learns the techniques themselves, but also gradually comes to understand the spiritual values and cultural roots embodied within these traditions.
Blending cinematic storytelling with poetic realism, the film captures the rich cultural details and unique spirit of the city of Suzhou.
